Erickson Insurance Group was formed by Max L. Erickson and opened in its new location in downtown Havre in January 2011. Formerly part of Erickson-Baldwin Insurance, Erickson Insurance Group is a family owned full-line independent insurance agency representing numerous insurance companies for over 40 years. Our team of professional agents has more than 75 years of combined experience.
In 2025 our firm purchased the Susan Cline Agency in Great Falls expanding our footprint in north central Montana with a second location. The Susan Cline Agency had a long tradition of providing multi-peril and crop hail offerings to their clientele. Erickson Insurance Group plans to build on that legacy by providing additional markets and more products in the agricultural risk space.

MAX L. ERICKSON
PRESIDENT
Max L. Erickson has been involved in the insurance business for more than 40 years as an independent agent servicing customers all across the Hi-Line from Chester to Malta and south to Big Sandy. His specialties include crop, farm & ranch and life insurance. Max also carries several professional insurance designations including the Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Advisor for Senior Living and is a member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) and a past multi-year member of the Million Dollar Roundtable. In 2013 Max was recognized for his dedication and service to the crop insurance industry by the National Crop Insurance Services board of directors as the recipient of the 2013 Outstanding Service Award for his work with limited resource farmers in rural Montana. Max and his wife Cindy have two grown sons and four grandchildren and he enjoys hunting and fishing.

Andrew R. Brekke has worked in the insurance business for more than 20 years specializing in crop and farm & ranch insurance and is active in the Havre Community as a member of the Havre City Council for 14 years as well as the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce and the Havre-Hill County Planning Board. Andrew also serves as a Public Representative for the State of Montana on the Montana Insurance Guaranty Association board of directors as well as several crop insurance industry advocacy and advisory boards.

Michael Erickson joined the firm 10 years ago and specializes in life and farm & ranch insurance. Michael is active in the Havre community serving on the MSU-Northern Lights Athletic Scholarship Foundation board of directors. In his spare time, Michael and his wife Justine enjoy golfing and hunting with their two bird dogs.

Mike Gilson joined the firm in 2011 and serves the Carter & Fort Benton market as an experienced producer specializing in Crop Insurance. His professional experience and knowledge as an agronomist makes him an ideal choice for farmers looking to manage their agricultural risks. Mike and his wife live in Carter and in his spare time he enjoys hunting and fishing.

Justine joined our firm in the fall of 2024 and currently manages our property & casualty insurance department. She was raised on the hi-line and understands the unique needs of our small town communities. Justine and her husband Michael enjoy golfing and hunting with their two bird dogs.

Ashley began working in crop insurance in 2015. Raised in Fort Benton and living in Great Falls, she has a deep appreciation for central Montana and those who work in agriculture. In her off time Ashley enjoys getting outside and has recently joined the Great Falls Garden Club. She also enjoys playing cribbage and primarily, spending time with her ten year old son and friends and family.
